Estelle Simard is an Indigenous scholar, educator, and community practitioner dedicated to strengthening culturally grounded approaches to education, child welfare, and community capacity building. She serves as the Curriculum Development Manager with the Tribal Training Certification Partnership (TTCP), where she works in partnership with Tribal communities to develop culturally responsive training and certification programs that support the Indigenous child welfare workforce. Her work focuses on Indigenous knowledge systems, community-driven curriculum development, and the integration of cultural teachings into professional training environments. Estelle has been deeply involved in designing micro-credential pathways, competency-based learning models, and immersive cultural education experiences that support practitioners working with Indigenous children, families, and communities. At the national level, Estelle serves on the Governing Council for Indigenous and Tribal Social Work Education under the Council on Social Work Education. In this role, she contributes to macro-level conversations on Indigenous curriculum development, professional standards, and the future of Tribal social work education across North America. She is also engaged in governance and systems development, including the design of education structures and policy frameworks that support Indigenous self-determination in education. Estelle’s scholarship and practice emphasize relational accountability, cultural restoration, and community-centered learning across the lifespan.
